For more than four decades, The Garden of Gethsemane Church of God in Christ has been a cornerstone of both local and global communities. Since its founding in 1982 by Pastor Timothy L. Gaines Sr., our church has been more than a place of worship; it has been a lifeline, a beacon of hope, and a symbol of love in action. Through initiatives like the Each One, Reach One Feeding Project, we have fed over 100 unhoused and low-income individuals and families during the holiday season each year. Our back-to-school giveaways and health fairs have served over 320 families annually, ensuring 150+ children have the supplies they need to succeed and families receive critical health education, screenings, and resources.

The impact of this work transcends borders. Locally, our ministry has touched lives in communities across Maryland and the DC area—from Mount Rainier to Baltimore and beyond. Globally, we have provided school supplies, clothing, and food to countries like Jamaica, bringing hope to those in need. Our annual Shelter in Place Summit raises awareness about human trafficking and domestic violence, offering resources and support to survivors. We are a ministry that doesn’t just talk about faith—we live it through service.

Today, We’re asking for your support to sustain this critical work. Inflation and economic challenges threaten to limit the reach and sustainability of our ministry, but together, we can ensure that doesn’t happen. We aim to raise $50,000 in the coming days to keep our programs and ministry accessible to the communities that depend on us. Your contribution can help ensure that more families are fed, more children are prepared for school, and more individuals find hope and healing through their outreach.
